THE BASICS OF ~NEWSPAPERS

~newspapers is the new community for ~lineart where members can post about news that pertains to their character that the community at large should know about. Is your character receiving an award? Was your character involved in an accident? Was there a robbery? Was there an arrest? Is there an important event going on? All of these things are news, and all members are encouraged to post about them!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

• This community will be used as a way for players to involve others in their major plot, as well as let the community as a whole know what is going on.
• Each article will follow a template, supplied here.
• News articles can be posted immediately and do not need mod approval, but if it does concern characters other than your own, we do ask that you clear things with any other character involved.
• News articles need to be at least 250 words at minimum, but there is no max to how long you want to make it! If it is longer than 250, we do ask that you place it under a cut to save friends pages.

WHAT CAN BE POSTED AS A NEWS ARTICLE?
Here are a few ideas as to what you can post for a news article:

• Job promotions/awards
• Humanitarian awards
• Crime sprees (robberies, attacks, arrests, etc)
• Important events (grand opening of stores, vip events, etc.)
• Obituaries
• Wedding announcements

Pretty much anything that you see in newspaper is free game! We ask that you try to keep it realistic as much as you can (of course, with some liberties given as this is a role playing game). And as mentioned above, if the news article is going to hold information about another character that is not yours, please just make sure to clear the article with the other player involved before posting.

IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN’T BE POSTED?
We do not want to limit anyone’s creativity while using this new part of our community. That being said, we ask that you respect other people’s characters, and make sure there is no line crossing. Just follow the basic rules of RP that we all know and love, and that’s that!

CAN THIS COUNT FOR AN ACTIVITY REQUIREMENT?
Yes! Any articles you post can be used as either a random post for requirements, or as incentive points (where you will get 2 points for handing it in.) There is no limit to how many news posts you can do in a month, all we ask is that you try to keep it reasonable - aka, don’t flood the friends page with articles every week from your character!
